Description

Despite the Covid-19 health restrictions in 2020, the American people came out during the summer in droves to protest the mistreatment of their fellow citizens at the hands of law enforcement.

For those in the movement to Decarcerate, Covid-19 gave reason to demand decarceration now, as the virus was proving to mesh out death sentences to those packed in overcrowded jails and prisons.

At the request of artivist Min. King X, for his video “Mask Protest,” C-Note created the work on paper, Decarcerate Now!. Later, this work would be turned into a poster and used by activists at Decarcerate protest rallies in front of jails and prisons.

"Decarcerate Now!" was also included in the Dec. 2020, virtual Covid-19 Mask Parade, curated by Carla Nelson of Black Fashion World Foundation.
