"Untitled Black Woman, is a work of Graphite on paper by American prison artist Donald "C-Note" Hooker. Like many of his works, such as "Dreams of the Mothers," or his poem "Tears of the Mothers," C-Note is constantly searching for that relationship between mother and child. Some, believe his interest in this subject matter is due to his biological mother giving him up for adoption at birth; while others believe, it is because his adopted mother kicked him out the house at 14, but the prison artist says it's neither.
I'm just a person who can be moved, emotionally. And that mother holding her baby in her arms is highly moving to us humans, so I'm not alone," says C-Note.
